Barbara Bowers PhD, RN, FAAN

Barbara Bowers, PhD, RN, FAAN, is the Helen Denne Schulte Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Nursing. She is the director of the Center for Excellence in Long-Term Care, a collaboration between the School of Nursing and the Department of Health and Family Services. Dr. Bowers has devoted much of her career to exploring long-term care environments, the relationship between public policy and long-term care practice, the impact of new models of long-term care on both care quality and work life, and strategies used by government and industry to enhance quality of care and quality of life in long-term care.
