Michael O'Neil PhD
Michael O'Neil, PhD, currently is director of the Workplace Metrics practice area within Herman Miller Inc.'s Workplace Knowledge Consulting group. O'Neil is a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt and Certified Professional Ergonomist with a PhD and Master’s degrees in Architecture, and a BA in Psychology.O'Neil has 20 years experience in consulting with Fortune 1000 clients and companies around the world to help them understand the impact of workplace design on employee performance, health and business outcomes.
Before joining Herman Miller in 1992, O'Neil served as an assistant professor of interior design and had a joint appointment within the Industrial Engineering Department at the University of Wisconsin. Prior to that he was a Research Associate at BOSTI in Buffalo, NY. O'Neil is the author of Ergonomic Design for Organizational Effectiveness (1998) and Measuring Workplace Performance (2007).
