Matthew Weinger MD

Matthew B. Weinger, MD is a professor of anesthesiology, biomedical informatics and medical education at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and was recently awarded an endowed chair in medical simulation patient safety.

Weinger teaches and conducts research in patient safety, human factors, and clinical decision making. He is also the Director of the Vanderbilt Center for Medical Simulation, Director of the Vanderbilt Center for Perioperative Research in Quality, and the Co-Director of the Middle Tennessee Center for Improving Patient Safety.

Weinger is co-chairman of the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) Human Factors Committee, an executive member of the Board of Directors of the Anesthesia Patient Safety Foundation, is a past president of the Society for Technology in Anesthesia, an associate examiner for the American Board of Anesthesiologists and serves on the Editorial Board of the journal Human Factors.
