R. Alta Charo is the Warren P. Knowles Professor of Law and Bioethics at the University of Wisconsin, where she is on the faculty of the Law School and of the Department of Medical History and Bioethics in the School of Medicine & Public Health. She is an elected member of the
Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters and of the National Academies Institute of Medicine.
