Keith Bakken

Keith Bakken has served as the Executive Director for Wisconsin Health and Physical Education since 1995.

He is a retired Army Ranger whose active duty assignments included teaching physical education at West Point. Later in his career he served as the director of the Army's Master Fitness Trainer course at Ft. Benjamin Harrison, IN. He is one of the authors of the Army's physical training manual (FM 21-20) and the Army's health promotion regulation which led to smoke-free government buildings.

His education includes a BS in engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point and an MS in physical education from the University of Illinois. Today his primary responsibility is to be an advocate for high quality health and physical education programs.
