Marvin Birnbaum MD, PhD
Marvin L. Birnbaum, MD, PhD, holds the current positions of emeritus professor of medicine and physiology with the University of Wisconsin-Madison, is director of the Emergency Medical Services Program with the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics, the Medical Director of the City of Madison Fire Department Emergency Medical Services System and the Paramedic Training Program, and Medical Director of Emergency Medical Services for the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics, University of Wisconsin.Dr. Birnbaum is the President of the World Association for Disaster and Emergency Medicine and presently transitioning the position of Editor-in Chief of "Prehospital and Disaster Medicine" which is the official journal of the World Association for Disaster and Emergency Medicine, to another person.
Dr. Birnbaum is also a member of the Executive Committee for the World Association for Disaster and Emergency Medicine.
He is co-author of the Health Disaster Management Guidelines for Evaluation and Research in the Utstein Style.
