Mary Westrick PhD
Mary Westrick, PhD currently serves as Covance Global Vice President and General Manager, Clinical Pharmacology. As such, she has responsibility for Clinical Research Units in 10 locations in North America and Leeds, UK.Westrick directs over 700 clinicians, regulatory, and data professionals in conducting early phase clinical studies from first entry in humans through proof of concept. Westrick earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry and an MS and PhD in Pharmacology and Toxicology from Purdue University.
She has over 20 years of experience in conducting early clinical trials and has also been involved in the conduct of toxicology studies and Phase II through IV clinical protocols. She serves on Covance’s Global Leadership Council (GLC) which sets policy and provides strategic direction for the corporation.
Prior to joining Covance, Westrick was the founder and president of a professionally-managed Phase I-IV investigator site which conducted over 250 trials under her direction. She is a member of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, the Drug Information Association and was elected to membership in the American Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics. She also serves on the Dean’s Industrial Advisory Council for the Purdue University School of Pharmacy. Westrick has presented to numerous community, professional and academic groups, and is a lecturer in the Master of Science Program in Biotechnology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
