The Wisconsin Medical Project (WMP) is a non-profit humanitarian organization whose mission is to deliver medical supplies and equipment to pediatric colleagues at the Eduardo Agramonte Pediatric Hospital in Madison's sister city of Camaguey, Cuba.

In addition to discussing the current work of WMP to update the laboratories in the main pediatric hospital and their 60-bed neonatal unit, Dr. Micke gives a brief overview of health care in Cuba, highlights the advances in public health as well as considers the problems the Cuban economy and the ongoing US embargo pose to health care delivery throughout Cuba.
