Georgia L. Hinman, PhD

January 29 2009

26 minutes

Are you are a female athlete who dreams of playing collegiate soccer? Are you the parent of a daughter who loves soccer?

Author and doctor Georgia Hinman surveyed more than 1,600 collegiate female soccer players for advice and information about their soccer experiences from Pigtails to Preseason—growing up, enduring the recruiting process, and getting in to college.

With two daughters who played collegiate soccer, Hinman shares personal experiences and weaves principles that soccer players of all ages will find useful. Beginning soccer players will learn fundamental values for playing the game and picking a team. Middle and high school players will find time management, resume writing, and test-taking tips, and those applying to college will find useful strategies for applying to colleges and picking the right division and school. It's never too early or late to learn the values of Pigtails to Preseason.
