By participating in this program, the participant should be able to:

* Describe the process of atherothrombosis.

* Outline the role of drug-eluting stents in treating targeted lesions and discuss the utility of systemic therapy to address multiple vulnerable plaques.

* Discuss timing and dosing of adjuvant systemic therapy used perioperatively and long term after PCI.

* Cite recent clinical studies, and compare and contrast the utility of currently available drug-eluting stents.
