Sol Kelley-Jones explores effective strategies for educators to create safe, affirming classroom environments for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender students and their heterosexual peers. Drawing on the experiences of LGBTQ teens currently navigating middle and high school, this session provides tools to constructively counter the forces of homophobia and transphobia, and creatively integrate LGBTQ themes into curriculum, carving out healthy spaces for LGBTQ students and positive platform for all youths’ voices.
