Dr. Jackson received her BS and MD from The Ohio State University and internship and residency training in internal medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She joined the faculty at OSU after completing her fellowship training in Endocrinology. She is involved in collaborative multidisciplinary team science focused on the epidemiology of chronic diseases in women. As director of The Ohio State University's Center for Clinical and Translational Science, Jackson has led the programmatic functions, operations, and strategic planning for the Center and has a national presence in translational science through her leadership roles in the national CTSA Consortium Steering Committee, the Clinical Research Forum, and the NIH Advisory Board for Clinical Research.
Jackson has more than 25 years of NIH funded clinical trials and observational cohort experience with extensive experience and funding in defining biomarkers and genetic associations through the conduct of GWAS and exome sequencing studies. She was vice-chair of the Women's Health Initiative for more than a decade and currently is principal investigator of the Women's Health Initiative Midwest Regional Field Center.
