Julie Mills MS

Julie Mills, MS, started her career as a test engineer on the space telescope. Since then she has always been fascinated by how people perceive information and how to translate desired outcomes backwards into discrete steps - human factors was a natural choice.

Mills has published papers on how language choices can cut complexity, how simple tools like PowerPoint with VBA allow rapid prototyping and distance testing. Since 1998 Julie has been a usability engineer/ designer at Datex-Ohmeda (now part of GE) working on anesthesia equipment. Julie has a Bs ChE and a masters in Industrial engineering with a focus on human factors both from UW Madison.
